Overcapture is a film technique which Creative Reality have been exploring since the early days of 360 video. Overcapture involves the manipulation of a 360 video or photo, framing it into a traditional non-spherical image. The technique allows for unusual, unique and creative shots and can add dynamism to almost any production.

The beauty of overcapture is the ability to capture the entire scene when filming, and choose the composition/reframe the footage later on in post. The pan, tilt, rotation and zoom can all be adjusted with a high level of precision and repeatability allowing for unique camera movements and perspectives. The little planet view is very popular use of overcapture, making the scene appear to be a small globe in the centre of the frame.
